About

My long suffering hubbie and I live in a cottage in the East of Scotland. My kitchen floor is constantly muddy and covered with work boots, wellies, riding boots and muddy nets of veg. My washing machine is clogged up with muddy boiler suits and rugby gear and my window sills have a film of dirt during dry days and harvest. However, the countryside we are surrounded by is quiet, peaceful and calming, and very very beautiful.  We are fortunate to be close to some gorgeous beaches, which are great for relaxing, romantic walks and horse riding . We also have access to lots of yummy local produce.

I have no formal training in cooking or baking, barely passing Home Economics and at one point hated being in the kitchen! That has all changed and I actually love cooking and baking especially for my hubbie, family and friends. After having been ill for many months and being unable to even look at food without vomiting, once I got better my appetite returned  and I really started to take an interest in recipes, cooking and baking and actually appreciating and enjoying the process!

In my spare time I also love reading, horse riding, watching rugby and spending time with family and friends.

I’m new to this, blogging and cooking but wanted somewhere to record my recipes and my attempts at cooking, the good, the bad and the ugly!

    1. Glad I’m not the only one with small kitchen issues! We actually got rid of your kitchen and placed a dresser in its place so we have more storage and room to move around. Now we have to eat in the dining room instead! Which I must admit is nice.

    1. Aw thanks, that really nice of you to say. I wish my kitchen was bigger, its tiny, with not a lot of counter space. It can be a challenge. Thankfully we recently added a dresser and got rid of the kitchen table, and now use the dining room more, so got a bit more space to move around and store my ever expanding collection of baking and coking equipment! Lol!

    1. They definitely do! That’s so good that you are redoing your kitchen set up,as you’ll be able to modify it to meet your needs. Decorating and finding creative space solutions is also fun! Hope it all goes well xx
